Fotoprojekt am 27.04.2016 im Rahmen von: »Wo Politik keine Sprache mehr findet, ist die Kunst die Form, die Kommunikation schafft.« 28 Mitglieder des Äthiopischen Kulturvereins Nürnberg e.V. treffen sich im Fotoatelier Thomas Riese. Gegensätze und Verbindendes werden innerhalb von Familien in Szene gesetzt und fotografisch festgehalten.

Photo project framed by: „Where politics has no language left, art becomes the form that creates communication.“ Twenty-eight members of the Ethiopian Culture Association of Nuremberg e.V. meet at Thomas Riese Photo Studio. Contrasts and unities are staged within families and captured photographically.

Thema

Gegensätze entstehen, wenn sich zwei Merkmale in einem System ausschließen. Tekarno (äthiop. Gegensatz) beschäftigt sich mit kulturellen Gegensätzen. Ziel: Bewusstsein für die Grenzen humanistischer und sozialer Gegebenheiten. Das Kunstprojekt Tekarno will die Vielfalt kultureller Gemeinsamkeiten sichtbar machen. Gegensätze bedeuten hier Verbindendes, nicht Trennendes.

theme

Opposites arise when two features in a system exclude each other. Tekarno (ethiop.: contrast) deals with cultural opposites. Aim: awareness of the limits of humanistic and social conditions. The art project Tekarno intends to make visible the diversity of cultural commonalities. Opposites mean here a linking, not a dividing force.

Thema

Workshops und Gespräche in der Stadtteilgalerie „LeonART“ mündeten in das ortsspezifische Projekt „Vernetzt Leonhard!“. Diskursiv und experimentell knüpft es an das Städtische Gewebe an und entwickelt es weiter – am „Tag der Weber“ entstanden, wird es im Ausstellungszeit raum fortgetragen. An Schnittstellen von Kunst, Kultur und Teilhabe werden die Kompetenzen der Beteiligten sichtbar, und die Aktions-Ausstellung formiert sich spielerisch weiter.

Workshops and discussions in the neighborhood gallery “LeonART” culminated in the site-specific project “Vernetzt Leonhard!”. Discursively and experimentally, it links to and devlops the urban fabric – originating on the “Day of the Weavers” and continuing throughout the exhibition. Thema

Ein Beziehungsgeflecht aus Garnen, Fäden und Bändern in unterschiedlichen Farben spannte sich zwischen zwölf Bäumen auf dem Leonhardsplatz. Jeder ist Teil des Kunstwerks; zusam- men bildeten sich ein Geflecht, das modellhaft sichtbar wurde. Dieses ungewöhnliche Bild im öffentlichen Raum lädt dazu ein, zu fragen: Wo ist mein Platz im Gewebe der Gesellschaft? In der Kunst – wie in jeder Arbeit – geht es um Gestaltungsfäigkeit, Entscheidungs- und Verantwortung in der Gemeinschaft als kulturelle Praxis.

A network of threads, yarns, and ribbons in different colors stretched between twelve trees on Leonhardsplatz (the former village center). Everyone was a part of the artwork; together we formed a weave that became visibly exemplified. This unusual image in public space invi- tes the question: Where is my place in the fabric of society? In art – as in any work – it is about shaping, decision-making, and taking responsibility in the community as a cultural practice.
